Pouyan Asgharian is a Ph.D. Candidate in Robotics at Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS), based in Montréal. His core research focuses on designing and implementing intuitive robot learning systems, bridging the gap between theoretical models and real-world deployment. He specializes in integrating components like robotic arms, computer vision, and human-in-the-loop control to create safer, more adaptable automation solutions.
Pouyan’s expertise lies in automation, robot learning, and control, with practical application demonstrated through a collaboration with Pfizer Canada to integrate AI-driven learning methods for automating complex laboratory workflows. Beyond his academic and industrial work, Pouyan actively builds his brand through thought leadership as the host of the Persian-language podcast, Robo Tik, sharing insights on the latest trends in AI and Robotics.
Driven by a passion for continuous engagement, he actively contributes to the community through various mentorship experiences, participation in numerous conferences, summer schools, and events, and by sharing personal perspectives on his blog.
